Particularly if your concern is hormonal hair growth, commonly found in facial areas for women, and the shoulders, upper back and arms for men, IPL and laser generally results in the hair growing back, sometimes in another area or darker in colour. Additionally, if you are dealing with polycystic ovary syndrome, menopause, or hereditary growth, tweezing, waxing, or threading is not optimal, whereas electrolysis will ensure the hair permanently disappears with no side effects.
Anna Coleman has been a qualified Electrolysis specialist since 1989 and will perform your treatment. Having treated generations of clients with electrolysis, inclusive of eyebrow shaping and beard sculpting, Anna has helped many clients increase their confidence.
How does Electrolysis work?
A fine, disposable needle is used to deliver electrical currents to the hair follicle, which is destroyed at the root, then removed from the follicle, resulting in gradual weakening of hair growth to the point of no growth. It is TGA-approved, safe, permanent, and has a cumulative effect.

IPL
Intense Pulsed Light Treatments
A popular choice for permanent hair reduction, vascular treatment, as well as skin rejuvenation, IPL or intense pulsed light, is a non-invasive technology used globally for its multiple benefits without requiring any downtime.
Many of our acne clients have experienced significant changes in their skin tone and texture, as well as a reduction in pore size after a course of these treatments.
Usually, a course of 6-10 treatments is recommended to target concerns such as the following for optimal results:
- Skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, superficial capillaries and discoloration
- Vascular concerns such as facial blemishes, rosacea, thread veins, and other types of unsightly veins or capillaries on the face or body
- Permanent hair reduction on the face or body
Most people are safely eligible for IPL treatments, which is determined via a full consultation and patch testing. However it is best to discuss your needs with Anna or our therapists to determine your suitability, as well as how many treatments are required depending upon the severity of the concern.
How does IPL work?
A handheld device will be used by our highly-trained therapists to generate an intense pulse of light towards targeted areas of the skin. Some discomfort will be experienced depending on your pain threshold, similar to the sensation of flicking an elastic band onto the skin. This discomfort decreases as each area is treated.
There are no long-term side effects as IPL is a safe treatment, however, in the short term, redness might be experienced and will disappear within a few hours. There is also no downtime with IPL, however, the treated area should not be exposed to direct sunlight for at least 4 weeks.

This unique and effective hair removal system utilises sugar.
Far superior to waxing since it is not damaging to the hair follicles, we apply a sugar paste solution to your skin in the opposite direction of your hair growth, and remove it gently. Since the paste is lukewarm, there is no risk of burning to the skin. The hair can slide out effortlessly and comfortably for a complete and pain-free extraction.
